Office Politics

I actually can't believe I'm blogging this, because it's so silly. But isn't that office politics for you?
None of the names I will be using are real because my mom raised me to not be a bully. (and I don't want to get fired if one of my coworkers happens to find this)
So the other day I was minding my own business (like I always do) and I got an email from (Lets call her Sue, shall we?) Sue asking me to turn down the heat in my office because she was way too hot.
Now that is completely fine, I wish she had come and asked herself, but I'm not unreasonable.

Now lets break here so I can explain it a little better so you get all the facts.
In every 3rd office there is a thermostat
The Office with it controls the heat on either side.
Now this is where my office is, and where her office is.

So my thermostat doesn't actually control her office. But every now and then when I am not in my office Sue will come and change it without asking.
The air condition in our building is also broken, but she thought it best to blame me for the heat.

So after I said I would change it I got another email from her. Only not so nice.

"I can’t possibly handle it this warm Katie – so maybe if you could bring in a sweater if you’re super cold.  If worse comes to worse I may ask Joe (her boss) if I can move to another office."

Now that bugged me. So I decided to go apologise. Even if it wasn't my fault, even if it wasn't at all in my control.  I explained about the broken air conditioning and that everyone thought it was hot, but I did turn it down.

So she decided to say  "I'm to old for this Katie"

And this is where I lost my cool. I literally had to bite my tongue, smile, and leave.
If I hadn't I would have said what I was really thinking;

(Now I don't mean to be rude I'm being honest)  This lady is terribly over weight, she doesn't dress for summer weather (she wears huge sweaters, its +30 are you crazy!) and she is in her 60's.
Now those all play factors on why she's always too hot.

So because I'm young, healthy, and I dress in office attire I am forced to suffer.
That's fair.
I was taught to respect my elders so I couldn't say any of that.
Now I've decided if she wants to be cold FINE, so from now on I'm keeping it set at +16

And now that I've vented I'll leave you on a positive note.
I'm going hiking on Saturday with D and I will be taking LOTS of pictures to share with you.

Love always
Katie

P.S. Sue changed my heat again this morning from 16 to 20.

NOPE you wanted it down, now you gotta deal with it lady.
I changed it back.

Miami.....not the tropical one.

Oh hi, remember me? The girl that said she would keep up with the posts.
I haven't had too much to write but I thought I'd give you a bit of an update.  I'm being forced to go to Miami.  Now you're wondering the heck is wrong with me. How could I possibly not want to go to Miami.  Well see here's the problem, you're thinking of the wrong one. The one I'm going to looks a little like this.....

See that? That's a whole lot of nothing...
I've never actually been there though. I'm going to a wedding and the only real reason I'm going is to see my grandma.
I'm not very good with small towns, cowboys and horses. Despite being from the city that hosts The Calgary Stampede. I'm a total city girl.

Wish me luck!

I told you there would be lots of food posts.

I've never been the best at cooking. But this past year I've seen many recipes that made me stop and think.. "Hmmm I could probably make this at home!!!"
So I used my trusty friends Google and YouTube, and I taught myself how to cook.
It's really not as hard as my TV made it seem!
Now on those days where I want to blog but I really don't know what to write, you're probably going to see a food post :)

Baked Penne with Italian Sausage

Here we go, Food post #1 Sausage and Penne, with ceaser salad. Here is the recipe I used.
Now I'm seriously not exagerating when I say words can not describe how yummy it was. Seriously.
SO GOOD!
I changed some things about the recipe, because it's a little plain but MAN it was good!

Call me Katie

I never realized how hard it would be to get back into blogging. It's been over a year since my last post. Every now and then I would go back to my blog and read old posts. I hoped it would give me some ideas as to what to write for future blogs. But the inspiration never came. So here I am a year later, and I'm still scrambling for gold.

That's when I took a deep breath and decided to delete my old posts.
How am I suppose to start fresh when I'm constantly looking at the past?
So this is me. Let's forget about the old and start with the new.

If we're starting over then I believe some introductions are in order.
My name is Katelyn. However the only person who actually calls me that is the evil lovely lady at Rogers....And my mom (but only when I'm in serious trouble)
You my blog buddy can call me Katie.

Now that we've got that out of the way lets move onto what's to come in the new blog.
I will try to blog at least twice a week twice a month.
So you will probably be seeing a lot of food posts.

You lucky duck will get to travel down my new path as a young adult. It will be boring, it will be crazy, it will be amazing. Now buckle up my friend.

P.S. Expect grammar and spelling errors :)
